New Studies Coming in September 2024
Much like Inigo Montoya in the classic film The Princess Bride, most of us hate waiting.
However, that is the theme I thought of when I was putting together the below collection of Bible studies that are coming from HarperChristian Resources this September.
The first to release is Megan Marshman’s Relaxed, a study on Proverbs 3:5-6. These verses encourage us to trust in the Lord, which, in my experience, entails a whole lotta waiting! Megan teaches in Relaxed how to have the posture of Jesus as we trust in the Lord.
The second to release is an advent Bible study from Christine Caine and Lisa Harper. Advent is literally about waiting. People in the first century were waiting for the coming of the Messiah the same as we in the 21st century are waiting for Jesus to return. Lisa and Chris tag team in this study helping us recapture the wonder of Jesus living with us.
The final release is appropriately Forever, the final volume of Passion’s Jesus Bible study series. This series (Beginnings, Revolt, People, Savior, Church, and Forever) looks at the six acts of Scripture and walks participants through them. Not only have we been waiting for this final volume to come out, we all are waiting for Jesus to return and usher in his Forever Kingdom.

Ruth Chou Simons is a Wall Street Journal bestselling and award-winning author of several books and Bible studies, including GraceLaced, Beholding and Becoming, and When Strivings Cease. Her new Bible study, Now and Not Yet is available August 13, 2024!
Get to know Ruth in 10 questions! Captured while filming her Now and Not Yet Bible study, Ruth answers the “hard-hitting” questions about herself.
If you’ve ever waited on the Lord for something—direction, answers, resolution, strength—you know how challenging it can be. Even when we fully believe that God sees and hears our requests, if we’re honest, we sometimes view waiting as wasted time. But, what if it’s not? What if waiting is the means God uses to make us more like Christ? What if there are some pieces of God’s character that we’ll only learn while we wait?
If that’s true… how do we lean in? What lessons do these seasons hold? How do we keep hoping and believing what we know to be true?
In this six-week study, you’ll explore five biblical narratives that put God’s faithfulness to waiting people on display and help you direct your gaze from the answers you’re seeking to the God who meets you while you wait.
Ruth is an artist, entrepreneur, podcaster, and speaker, using each of these platforms to sow the Word of God into people’s hearts. Through her online shoppe at GraceLaced.com and her social media community, Simons shares her journey of God’s grace intersecting daily life with word and art. Ruth and her husband, Troy, are grateful parents to six boys—their greatest adventure. Learn more about Ruth at her website, ruthchousimons.com.
